Blending elements of jazz, funk, fusion, and soul, Liquid Street presents an aggressive debut album filled with grooves that push the envelope. Among the highlights are an updated arrangement of John Coltrane’s Giant Steps that will get you moving your feet, a soulful jazz version of Soundgarden’s classic Black Hole Sun, a tour de force energetic new modern fusion piece called Residual Afterthought, and the introspective title track, Not Till You Feel It.
Liquid Street is a quartet based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Influences come from the likes of Herbie Hancock, Soulive, Robert Glasper, Snarky Puppy, and many others. The band boasts four talented and experienced young veterans of the Detroit music scene: Bobby Streng on saxophones, Matt Endahl on keyboards, Jason Phelps on electric bass, and LaDell Abrams on drums. With an engaging repertoire, tight arrangements, and an ultra-high energy live show, Liquid Street helps breathe new life into the world of instrumental music.
